We sadly announce the sudden passing of Bonnie Darlene Jones on November 8, 2015 the day of her 40th wedding anniversary to her loving husband Gordon who was by her side at the end. Bonnie was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer and succumbed to cardiac arrest brought on by the disease.

Bonnie was predeceased by her mother Mary "Marie" Weber (nee Rebryna) and step mother Irene Scollan.

Bonnie was only 63 and will be deeply missed by her surviving family, namely husband Gordon, daughters Shannon and Heather, sons-in-law James Sondrol and Shawn Jeffrey, grandson Everett Jeffrey, father Ralph Weber, sister Elizabeth Zilkie, and brother-in-law Barry Zilkie. Also grieving her far too soon departure is mother-in-law Joyce Jones, and Bonnie's extended Jones family of 16 brothers and sisters-in-law and the Scollan family of five step brothers and sisters and their families.

Bonnie was soft spoken and shy, however, once you got to know her you soon found her kind and gentle nature and warmed easily to her. While it was often tough to get her to leave the cozy confines of her homestead for parties or such, she could be on a plane within the hour to her favorite place, Las Vegas. Her second favorite spot was Maui, Hawaii where she travelled to twice, once being her honeymoon. A simple little getaway up island for a few days made her equally content as long as it included a few hours of browsing in Coombs.

But mostly, Bonnie's life was 100% devoted unselfishly to her family. She was the family rock whether it be Gordon's right hand in the hectic donut business years or Shannon or Heather's companion or counselor whenever the occasion arose. In the last couple of years it was her special joy to spend endless amounts of time with her grandson Everett. She was enjoying retirement quietly including one day a week or so helping out at her old job with End of the Roll. Otherwise, you would find her reading or at a computer game practicing her skills for the next casino trip.

Right up to her final days Bonnie's smile would light up a room. We now expect she is lighting up the heavens instead.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the BC Cancer Society.
