July 12, 1928 - January 21, 2017
Passed away peacefully with his family by his
side. Predeceased by his parents Robert and
Thecle; sister Celeste, brother Louis; wife
Therese (nee Dion); and grandson Justin. He
leaves behind his sisters Colette and Rita;
children Sharon, Barbara (Gilles), Norman
(Shelly), Mark (Theresa), Cathy (Byron), and
Allan; grandchildren Selina (Liberato), Kristina
(Craig), Hayley, Jordan, Meghan, Kevin; great
granddaughter Isabella; as well as many other
friends and relatives. Gil was raised in Fort
Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan and moved to
Victoria in the 1950’s where he met Therese.
They were married November 7, 1953 and
raised six children. Gil worked for Patterson’s
Construction for many years and was always
willing to help his friends and neighbours with
any projects they were working on. Gil enjoyed
hunting, fishing, bowling and playing cards.
Thank you to the staff at Arbutus Wing of
Gorge Road Hospital for their patience and
compassion taking care of Gil.
A celebration of life will be held at Sands
Funeral Chapel - Colwood, 317 Goldstream
Ave., on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
